Are you a Teaching Assistant with a sports background who can inspire and motivate students both in and outside the classroom?
GSL Education are hiring an enthusiastic and proactive Teaching Assistant with Expertise in Sports to work in a supportive school in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with coaching or sports experience to support students academically while also encouraging teamwork, confidence and physical activity.
As a Teaching Assistant (TA) with Expertise in Sports, you will work closely with teaching staff to support learning in the classroom and assist with sports activities, PE sessions, and student engagement. The successful candidate will be energetic, positive and confident working with children of different abilities.
Core Responsibilities
- Support students in lessons as a classroom Teaching Assistant
- Assist with PE lessons, sports sessions, and enrichment activities
- Work with students on a one-to-one and small group basis
- Help promote positive behaviour and student engagement
- Encourage teamwork, confidence and participation through sport
- Support teachers with classroom preparation and supervision
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Sports Coach or in a similar role
- Background in sports coaching, PE or youth activities
- Ability to motivate and engage studentsStrong communication and teamwork skills
- A positive, proactive and energetic attitude
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
