Art Teacher Wanted, Kirklees September Start Full-Time No End Date
Calling all creative minds, paint-splattered sleeves, sketchbook carriers, and classroom inspirers this one's for you
We're working with a brilliant secondary school in Kirklees looking for an Art Teacher who can turn blank pages into big ideas and classroom walls into mini galleries.
Whether you're an experienced teacher who knows their way around a kiln or an ECT ready to make your mark, this school is all about creativity, encouragement, and giving students the confidence to express themselves.
And honestly? The department is the kind people actually want to be part of. Supportive team, engaged students, and leadership that trusts teachers to teach. No endless clipboard hovering here
The Role
You'll be teaching Art across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons that get students thinking creatively and experimenting confidently. Expect sketchbooks full of personality, lessons that spark imagination, and students who genuinely enjoy the subject.
You'll be:
- Teaching Art across secondary age groups
- Encouraging creativity, confidence, and self-expression
- Planning exciting, hands on lessons
- Creating a positive classroom where students feel inspired
- Working alongside a welcoming and collaborative department
What We're Looking For
We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Hold UK QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Have experience teaching Art in UK secondary schools
- Can build strong classroom relationships quickly
- Bring energy, creativity, and fresh ideas into lessons
- Believe every student deserves the chance to shine creatively
ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply too. Your first teaching role shouldn't feel like being thrown into the deep end with a glue stick and a seating plan.

- Opportunity to make a real impact
- Long term stability with no fixed end date
- A school that genuinely values the Arts
