Governors of Black Country Federation are looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and caring Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our school. Working collaboratively with staff the successful candidate will utilise their advanced knowledge/specialist skills to undertake 'specified work' and provide care and supervision to our children/young people.
Qualifications
- a relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification or higher
- a good standard of education including English & maths (GCSE/Level 2)
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- experience of working within a classroom setting and with primary aged pupils
- excellent behaviour management skills
- the ability to work on their own initiative, and also work well as part of a team
Responsibilities
- Implement and undertake work in line with the Higher Level Teaching Assistants Standards
- Contribute to planning, preparing and delivery of learning activities and support programmes to individuals or groups of pupils
- Deliver and plan lessons for groups of pupils / whole classes
- Support the class teacher(s) within school
- Promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal opportunities to learn and develop
- Assist pupils with developing academically, socially, and personally
- Use behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policy and procedures, contributing to a purposeful learning environment
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
