Hello, I'm Katie, the Nursery Manager at Chesterfield. I have been part of the Chesterfield team for over 15 years. Alongside my deputy manager, we bring a wealth of early years knowledge and lead a dedicated, long standing team-all committed to providing the best care and learning experiences for our children.
Housed in a beautiful Grade II listed building, our nursery offers a true home from home atmosphere, where every child is warmly welcomed into a close knit and nurturing environment.
We place a strong focus on connecting with nature through our outdoor spaces, which include a teepee, vegetable patch, sensory garden, and apple trees-inviting children to explore, discover, and learn throughout all seasons.
Responsibilities
You'll be helping to provide cover for the children as and when needed. This could be for periods of holiday, sickness, or even vacancy gaps. Sometimes you'll support for a full day, or it may just be a morning or afternoon session.
You likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan, but that will soon get completely derailed. Pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care!
Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It's important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged. Of course we work within EYFS standards, but that doesn't stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.
