Are you an experienced and passionate Classroom Support Assistant looking for work? A Primary School located in Stourbridge is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from Easter through to July. This rewarding position is based in a Year 1 classroom, providing general classroom support and helping pupils with their learning during an important stage of their Key Stage 1 education. In this Teaching Assistant role, you will play an important part in supporting the class teacher and helping pupils engage with their learning across the curriculum. An important focus will be on leading small groups of children for Phonics Intervention sessions. Previous experience using White Rose Maths and Read Write Inc is desirable. The role involves supporting the whole class and ensuring all pupils are able to access learning in a positive and inclusive environment. Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils in a Year 1 classroom with their learning across a range of subjects, and phonics interventions.
- Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce the teacher's instructions and learning objectives.
- Assisting the class teacher with classroom organisation and learning activities.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupils' engagement in lessons.
- Helping to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Providing general classroom support throughout the school day.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children within a Key Stage 1 setting.
- A good understanding of the KS1 curriculum.
- A patient, positive, and proactive approach to supporting pupils.
- The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
- Availability to work full-time from after the Easter break until the end of the academic year in July.
