Learning Support Assistant - Manchester Secondary School Milk Education is more than a supply partner - we're a community for educators. We're currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming and inclusive Secondary School in Manchester on a long-term basis starting in September.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, helping them build confidence, independence and positive relationships within school.
Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SENCO, you'll provide targeted support to students who may need additional guidance in the classroom. This may include supporting students with learning difficulties, communication needs, social and emotional challenges, or those who simply benefit from extra encouragement and structure during the school day.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Supporting students in lessons to help them stay focused, engaged and confident in their learning
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to reinforce classroom learning and improve student progress
- Helping students develop independence, organisation skills and positive learning behaviours
- Working collaboratively with teachers to adapt classroom activities and learning materials to meet individual student needs
- Encouraging student participation, motivation and self-esteem both inside and outside the classroom
- Supporting students with emotional wellbeing, social interaction and behaviour regulation where needed
- Building positive and professional relationships with students, staff and parents/carers
- Promoting an inclusive learning environment where every student feels supported and able to achieve
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school or educational setting
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people to succeed
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, calm and encouraging approach
- The ability to build trust and positive relationships with students
- Confidence supporting students with different learning abilities and needs
- An understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management is desirable
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, health & social care or youth work are beneficial but not essential
