Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Installation lecturer to deliver outstanding quality in teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to students, to maximise achievement and continuous improvement. The role includes supporting curriculum development, employer engagement, and learner skills development.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Course Leader and Academic Tutor, creating and implementing innovative teaching, learning and assessment within your specialism.
- Deliver lectures, set and mark coursework, conduct practicals and field work for undergraduates and postgraduates.
- Support learner achievement through tutoring and continuous improvement activities.
- Work under pressure to meet strict validating body deadlines and provide evidence of assessment for moderation.
- Teach a minimum of 2 evenings per week for part time adult courses (remission days provided during term time).
Qualifications and Experience
- Teaching qualification or working towards one.
- Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
- Recent teaching experience in FE College, school or private provider on Electrical Installation courses such as C&G EAL Electrotechnical, T levels, and Green Skills technologies (Solar/PV, EV Chargers, Air Source Heat Pumps, Retrofit).
- Knowledge of Electrical Inspection & Testing (2391/51 and 2391/52) and the 18th Edition BS7671: 2018.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and meet validating body deadlines.
- Eligibility for enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, online search and proof of UK work eligibility.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: £39,678 - £47,736 per annum plus up to 53 days' annual leave + Bank Holidays. An uplift of up to £10,000 may be awarded for qualifications, including:
- Up to £5,000 pro rata for a Level 3 vocational qualification, teaching qualification, or relevant industry experience.
- Further up to £5,000 pro rata for holding a JIB ECS Card with Site Technician status, additional qualifications in Electrical Installation (e.g. th Edition), or an Assessors Award D32/33 or TAQA equivalent.
