The Education Specialists are partnering with a range of primary schools across Knowsley to recruit caring and reliable 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistants for flexible supply roles, including day to day, short term, and long term placements.
As a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant you will support pupils with additional needs on an individual basis, helping them to engage with lessons and develop both academically and socially. You will need to be adaptable, proactive, and committed to creating a supportive and structured learning environment tailored to each pupil's needs. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about inclusion and who enjoy working in varied educational settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored 1:1 support to pupils with SEND
- Adapt classroom activities to meet individual needs
- Support communication and interaction skills
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff
- Promote positive behaviour and engagement
- Track and report pupil progress
- Follow safeguarding and school procedures
Who Can Apply
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND
- Knowledge of ASD, speech and language needs, or SEMH is desirable
- A calm, patient, and flexible attitude
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
