The Education Specialists are partnering with a range of primary schools across Widnes to recruit enthusiastic and supportive 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistants for a variety of flexible roles. As a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and thrive within a mainstream classroom setting. You will play a vital role in supporting both academic progress and emotional well being, ensuring pupils feel safe, understood, and encouraged.
Key Responsibilities of a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant
- Support individual pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis
- Assist with differentiated learning activities
- Promote inclusion within the classroom
- Support emotional and behavioural needs
- Work alongside teachers to implement support plans
- Encourage independence and engagement
- Monitor and record progress
- Adhere to safeguarding and school policies
Who Can Apply: Experience and Skills
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
- Understanding of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, or SEMH
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
