William MacGregor Primary School is seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a fixed-term position, working with a Year 6 pupil with a full time EHCP for behaviour, social and emotional needs. This is a rewarding role which involves working closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support, ensuring that the pupil can access learning in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
Start: 01/09/2026, fixed term until 31/07/2027
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 6, with behavioural, social and emotional needs
- Implement personalised learning and care plans
- Support communication, interaction, and emotional regulation
- Supervision during lunchtime
- Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience working with children with additional needs
- Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children
- A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent)
- Experience supporting children with complex needs in a school setting (desirable)
