Job Summary
The Governors of Ryelands Primary School are looking to recruit an experienced and skilled teaching assistant to work within our Pupil Support Team. Working with the SENDCo and a team of Behaviour Support and Learning Mentors, you will support and meet the needs of vulnerable pupils, helping them to achieve and thrive.
Responsibilities
- Work independently and with initiative, drawing upon your knowledge and experience of pupils with special educational needs.
- Support children with identified SEMH needs through planned interventions and adapted provision in the classroom.
- Work with the Speech and Language Therapy Service to deliver targeted speech and language intervention.
- Assist in devising pupils' individual targets, monitor and review progress, and prepare reports as required.

Qualifications
- NVQ level 3 or above (or equivalent) - essential. Exceptional circumstances may allow lower qualifications.
- Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy - desirable.
Experience
- Experience of working with children - essential.
- Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment - essential.
- Experience of administrative work - desirable.
- Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour - desirable.
Additional Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check and full employment history required.
- Proven commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Legally entitled to work in the UK.
Salary and Hours
This position is part time, term time only. Salary quoted is full time equivalent; pay will be pro rata.
