TeacherActive is proud to be working with a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Salford, who are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated English Teacher. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire a love of literature and language across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for KS5 depending on experience.
The Role: The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons, helping students develop strong reading, writing, and analytical skills. You will play a key role in fostering a positive learning environment and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative and engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
- Support students in developing literacy, comprehension, and critical thinking skills
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL pupils
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a focused learning environment
- Contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote student wellbeing
Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge across literature and language
- A passion for inspiring young people through English
- A commitment to safeguarding and child protection
