About the Role
You'll be delivering engaging and accessible English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5). The focus is on building confidence in reading, writing, and communication, while encouraging students to express themselves and develop a love for language and literature.
This role requires a flexible and creative approach, adapting lessons to suit a wide range of learning needs. You'll be working with students who benefit from a more personalised and supportive teaching style, so patience, empathy, and adaptability are essential.

About You
We're looking for someone who brings both experience and the right mindset:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching English at secondary level
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum (Language and/or Literature)
- GCSEs and A-Levels in English (or equivalent)
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- A patient, adaptable, and encouraging teaching style
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
Bonus Points (Optional)
- Experience in specialist or alternative provision settings
- Knowledge of differentiated and personalised learning strategies
- Understanding of trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches
