About us
Venture Academy is a specialist school for children and young people aged 9 16 years with autism and/or a social, emotional or mental health diagnosis. The school has capacity for 50 students and is based in Henley in Arden, Warwickshire.
Job Description
Reporting to the Class Teacher and the Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for the support and delivery of teaching and learning. You will model best practice and enable successful learning and achievement by learners, fostering sustained improvement in their spiritual, moral, social, cultural, mental and physical well being in preparation for adult life.
Responsibilities
- Support and deliver teaching and learning across the curriculum.
- Model best practice and promote successful learning outcomes.
- Assist with behaviour management and teach learners safer communication strategies.
- Participate in the preparation and assessment of lessons.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the learning environment.
Qualifications
Requires a physically fit individual capable of managing challenging behaviours, which may be physical or involve reluctance to engage.
