Responsibilities
Working under the direction of teachers and senior staff to provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children, maintaining a stimulating and enjoyable environment. Under overall direction of the headteacher, playing a major role in formulating the aims and objectives of the school, establishing the policies through which they are to be achieved. Carrying out professional duties of a Teaching Assistant as required, taking responsibility for child protection issues and promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
Training and Qualification
Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard.
- Behaviours, Skills & Knowledge
- Functional Skills in Maths and English at level 2 (if not already exempt through prior qualifications)
- Regular visits at the workplace from a designated assessor to observe progress and competence in the role you are carrying out
- Training days will be once a month at Plymouth Teachers and School Alliance
Potential for full-time employment upon successful completion of the apprenticeship across the Learning Academies Trust, for the right candidate.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; pre-employment checks will be carried out; references will be sought for all shortlisted candidates and all shortlisted candidates will be requested to complete a questionnaire about any convictions or adult cautions that are unspent. Guidance will be given to those shortlisted. Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS.
