The Role
The Role: Teaching Assistant - Level 3 (SRP)
This post represents the next step in responsibility from a Level 2 Teaching Assistant role. The successful candidate will take a leading role in supporting teaching and learning within the Specialist Resource Provision, working closely with class teachers, the SENCO and senior leaders.
There is also flexibility within the role to provide support within Reception, ensuring continuity and high quality provision across Early Years as the school grows.
This is a career defining opportunity for someone who wishes to develop their expertise in SEND and Early Years within a forward thinking and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting Pupils
- Provide focused and personalised support for pupils within the SRP, including those with EHCPs and complex additional needs
- Lead targeted interventions and structured learning activities under teacher guidance
- Support pupils' communication, independence, self regulation and social development
- Assist with personal care and medical needs where required, in line with training and policies
- Promote emotional wellbeing, positive behaviour and high expectations
Supporting Teaching, Learning and Assessment
- Work closely with teachers to plan, adapt and deliver learning activities
- Contribute to assessment through observations, record keeping and feedback on pupil progress
- Implement specialist strategies and programmes, including communication and sensory approaches
- Support learning within both the SRP and Reception when required
Wider Responsibilities and Team Contribution
- Take a proactive role within the SRP team, ensuring consistency, routines and best practice
- Provide guidance and informal support to less experienced support staff where appropriate
- Contribute to review meetings and communication with parents and external professionals
- Demonstrate flexibility in response to the evolving needs of a growing school
