Learning Support Assistant - Southcote Centre
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant for SEN pupils to join our team at the Southcote Centre, based at Kings International College which is part of Philip Southcote School within the Bourne Education Trust.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for providing highly effective, targeted provision and care to pupils, in support of and under the guidance of Teachers and Senior Leaders, in order to raise standards of achievement for pupils to become independent learners. You will also ensure the effective support of pupil welfare and the inclusion of all pupils in all aspects of school life in line with school and Trust policies, promoting the ethos and the values of the school and Bourne Education Trust.

Philip Southcote School is a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities School for students aged 11 to 19. - Philip Southcote Main School - A 3 Form Entry site for students aged 11 to 16 years.
- Philip Southcote Sixth Form - For students age 16 to 19 years, this state of the art and newly opened site at The Meads is within walking distance from the main school.
- Philip Southcote Satellite Centres - Our centres are based within mainstream secondary schools. Chertsey High School, Chertsey, Epsom and Ewell High School and Kings International School, Camberley.

Key responsibilities include
- Working as part of a team, under the direction of the responsible Teacher, to support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils.
- Under the guidance of the responsible Teacher, facilitating the learning of individual pupils and groups, setting high expectations and promoting positive attitudes to learning.
- Preparing, planning and delivering specific intervention programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil response and need.
Requirements include
- Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children.
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification).
- Ability to evidence effective communication with a wide audience/range of stakeholders.
- Relevant experience of working with children in an educational setting.
