We are currently seeking a Science Technician (Chemistry Specialist) to support the delivery of A Level Chemistry, alongside Biology, Physics, and BTEC Applied Science. Chemistry will be your primary area of focus, and you will play a key role in preparing and maintaining specialist equipment and materials to support high-quality practical teaching.
This exciting role will include:
Preparing and setting up practical experiments, with a particular focus on A Level Chemistry
Maintaining laboratory equipment and managing chemical stock safely and effectively
Supporting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, including safe chemical storage
Assisting with educational trips and practical assessments
Contributing to the organisation, upkeep and smooth operation of three well-equipped science laboratories
Working collaboratively with a team of four experienced teaching staff to support outstanding student outcomes
Our Science Department is friendly, collaborative and high achieving, with students consistently securing excellent results.
If you can demonstrate the following then we’d love to hear from you:
Recent experience working as a Science Technician or within a laboratory, school, college, or similar educational or scientific setting (desirable)
Strong practical knowledge of Chemistry
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to work independently and proactively
A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety
A degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific qualification (desirable)

Annual salary: Circa £24,900 Full Time Equivalent (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience – pro rata based on hours and weeks worked)
Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week, 36 weeks per year (TTO)
