We are seeking an experienced Multi-Disciplinary Quarry Assessor to support the development and qualification of employees across a range of operational roles within heavy industry environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in quarrying or similar site-based operations who is looking to transition into a development and assessment role, helping others progress in their careers across areas such as drilling, shotfiring, and commercial driving (Class 1 & 2).
You will play a key role in supporting learners through their qualifications, ensuring fair and consistent assessment, maintaining compliance with awarding body standards, and contributing to workforce development across multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out vocational assessments in line with awarding organisation requirements
• Support learners through their training and qualification journey
• Use e-portfolio systems to track progress and provide structured feedback
• Work closely with employers, colleagues, and training providers
• Help maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and competence across site-based roles
Essential Requirements
• Strong quarrying or heavy industry site experience, particularly in roles involving drilling, shotfiring, or operational driving
• Good understanding of industry standards and safe working practices
• Confident IT skills, including use of e-portfolio systems
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
• Strong communication, organisation, and time management skills
Desirable
• Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) qualification or willingness to work towards it
• Experience delivering training, mentoring, or toolbox talks
• Understanding of apprenticeships or competency-based qualifications
• Experience supporting colleagues with varying levels of experience
