Employment Coach – Care Leavers (Outreach)
Location: Salford
Hours: 21 hours over 3 days
Contract: 3-month contract £16 per hour umbrella, with opportunity to move into a permanent role
Permanent Salary: £27,500 – £29,500 pro rata
We are recruiting for an Employment Coach to support care-experienced young people aged 16–28 into employment, education and training. This is a community-based outreach role across Salford, supporting young people to overcome barriers and progress into sustainable opportunities.
You will manage a small caseload of young people leaving care, building trusted relationships and supporting them to develop confidence, skills and pathways into work.
Key Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of care-experienced young people and provide tailored employability support.

Support with CV writing, job applications, interview preparation and work readiness.
*
Identify employment, training, volunteering and education opportunities.
*
Build relationships with local employers and training providers to create opportunities.
*
Provide ongoing support to help individuals sustain employment placements.
*
Deliver practical employability workshops and work preparation activities.
*
Maintain records and monitor progress against programme outcomes.
Requirements
*
Experience supporting vulnerable young people or disengaged groups.
*
Strong engagement and relationship-building skills.
*
Understanding of barriers faced by care leavers or young people with complex needs.
*
Experience supporting individuals into employment, education or training.
*
Good IT and organisational skills.
*
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle required.
