Job summary
The Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) will play a key role within the Professional Workforce Team in supporting the growth, development, and retention of the AHP, Nursing, and Midwifery workforce. The post holder will help ensure high-quality learning environments, effective support for learners and staff, and delivery of workforce initiatives aligned to organisational and national strategies.
Working across clinical teams as well as with senior leaders, the PEF will facilitate learning, champion professional development, support quality improvement, and contribute to strategic projects that sustain and strengthen the future workforce for AHPs, Nursing and Midwifery.
Main duties of the job
Education, Learning & Workforce Development
- Support high-quality learning for pre-registration AHP, nursing, and midwifery learners.
- Contribute to coordinating and delivering apprenticeships.
- Work flexibly to meet changing workforce priorities.
- Deliver education sessions, workshops, and presentations.
- Guide clinical teams on supervision and learner support.
- Collaborate with universities and partners on placement quality, learner issues, and capacity planning.
Workforce Growth & Retention- Support workforce growth and retention strategies across AHP, nursing, and midwifery.
- Assist senior leaders with workforce planning and pipeline development.
- Participate in early-careers, progression, and widening-participation activities.
- Help enhance the experience of learners and new starters to foster belonging.
Quality, Governance & Assurance- Support monitoring and reporting of placement quality, governance, and learner experience.
- Assist with audits, action planning, and improvement work.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to data analysis.
Engagement & Collaboration- Work with clinical leaders, educators, and workforce teams to maintain strong learning environments.
- Build relationships with HEIs, apprenticeship providers, and professional partners.
- Act as an ambassador for the Professional Workforce Team.
