Role Overview
A respected further education provider in Carlisle is seeking a confident and adaptable English Teacher to deliver GCSE English to post-16 learners. This full-time, short-term role is ideal for someone with recent classroom experience who is keen to make an impact in a structured and supportive setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned GCSE English sessions to a diverse student cohort
- Develop lesson plans and resources to support differentiated learning
- Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and assessments
- Contribute positively to student engagement, retention, and achievement
Person Specification
To be considered, you will need:
- Recent experience teaching GCSE English in either a secondary school or further education college
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Confidence in adapting materials to suit individual learner needs
- A proactive, student-focused teaching approach
