Role: Lecturer – Business and Accounting
Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note – Salary and Annual Leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.
Hours/Weeks: 14.8 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Term Time

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Business and Accounting to join our Business department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Deliver T-Level Accounting – Prepare, teach, and assess students on the T-Level Accounting course.
- Support Student Success – Guide and motivate learners to achieve their full potential and meet required standards.
- Ensure Quality Learning – Create engaging lessons, monitor progress, and maintain high-quality learning environments.
- Champion Curriculum & Development – Develop schemes of work, innovate teaching methods, and contribute to marketing activities.
- Uphold College Values & Compliance – Promote safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and participate in training and college-wide events.
About you:
- Qualified in Accounting – Holds a relevant qualification at least one level above the course being taught.
- Experienced Educator – Recent teaching experience in accounting with strong classroom management skills.
- Exceptional Communication & Organisation – Demonstrates excellent verbal/written communication, organisational, prioritisation, and interpersonal skills.
- Technical & Professional Competence – High numeracy, proficient in Microsoft Office, handles sensitive data confidentially, and works effectively under pressure.
- Values-Driven & Flexible – Adheres to safeguarding, equality, and health & safety policies; able to travel, adapt hours, and maintain professional boundaries.
