Position: Outdoor Instructor / Outdoor Technician & Trainer
Head of Delivery - Brathay Trust #Global Outdoor Learning Day
We’re looking for an Outdoor Instructor with a wide breadth of experience and qualifications to deliver high-quality outdoor technical support, instruction and safety cover across Brathay’s programmes. These include schools and universal youth programmes, apprentices, graduates and professional development work.
You’ll be part of a small, close-knit outdoor technical support team, working alongside our diverse training teams and associate practitioners.
Role includes
- Delivering outdoor technical instruction, safety cover and support across a range of programmes
- Working as a Trainer on schools and universal youth programmes
- Supporting the inspection and maintenance of outdoor equipment, PPE and creative resources
- Working flexibly, including regular evenings, some weekends, and occasional UK travel
Essential skills & qualifications
- Rock Climbing Instructor / Single Pitch Award
- Paddlesport Leader or equivalent BCU or UKCC awards
- Powerboat level 2
- First Aid Certificate (16 hours)
- Mountain Leader Award (summer)
At least one higher level NGB from the list below
- RYA Safety boat or Powerboat Instructor
- A more advanced Paddlesport award
- Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor / Mountain Instructor Award
- Mountain Leader Award (winter)
Desirable
- Safeguarding level 2/3
- PCV/D1 driving licence
- Trailer licence D1+E
