We are deeply proud of our academic community. Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is a diverse and dynamic learning environment, defined by a shared sense of respect for all its people. Our mission is to be bold, to do the right things and to change lives, and our academics are key to realising those goals. Their work continues to reinforce our credentials as an award-winning university, and a research centre of excellence.
Our continued success — underpinned by the number of prestigious national awards we’ve won — has hinged on two commitments:
- forging excellent partnerships around the world
- harnessing the talents of all our people
We secured a ‘Gold’ rating in the government’s Teaching Excellence Framework; received the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for our pioneering research; and in 2018, we were the first UK university to sign the Social Mobility Pledge, further demonstrating our commitment to ensuring ‘success for all’. NTU is a university at the peak of its powers, but we know we can still go even further. That’s why we’re now looking for new, passionate, ambitious people to join our community.
The School of Social Sciences, Nottingham Trent University (NTU) - an introduction
NTU’s School of Social Science is many things to many people. We’re one of the UK’s preeminent teaching and learning environments; a conduit for unique opportunities in both academia and business; a nationally and internationally recognised research centre; a hub for the strategic partnerships that are shaping civic, cultural and social life; and a true beacon for the community.
As an aspiring university of the future, we understand and embrace our key obligations - to create new opportunities and manage the deployment of skills and knowledge for the betterment of communities, society and professional practice. The School of Social Science is key in realising those commitments, and these posts are part of that ambition to provide genuinely life-changing opportunities.
Our plans for the future
These are exciting times for the School. The Institute of Health and Allied Professions is developing a range of new provision for healthcare professionals across the sector including nursing and paramedics. We have excellent partnerships with practice providers to help us develop high quality education and research, to enable us to deliver meaningful change to our community and further fulfil the University’s strategic commitment to enriching society. We have established a range of Nursing, Paramedic, continuing professional development courses for nurses and Allied Health Professionals at NTU’s Clifton Campus.
At NTU, we recognise that our greatest strengths lie in the energy, expertise, and experience that our colleagues bring.
