Hybrid working with 2 days at home and 3 on site in Wembley. Pertemps Work Based Learning and Skills are delighted to be working with an award-winning independent training provider that is looking to add a Functional Skills Tutor to their team in London - based out of their offices in Wembley. Winner of TES apprenticeship programme of the year 2020, they are proud of their innovative and tailored approach which has a lasting impact on the lives of learners. They provide training via Apprenticeships or via ‘alternative to education’ routes from their centres across the UK. To be considered for this role you must be able to travel to their centre in Wembley for 3 days per week, with the other 2 being home based.
The package available for the position of Functional Skills Tutor:
- Basic salary of £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Duties of the Functional Skills Tutor:
- Delivery of the Functional Skills English, Maths and Essential Digital Skills (EDS) up to L2.
- Conduct a range of initial assessments and use diagnostic tools.
- Complete Learner Journeys and Action Plans taking into consideration various learning styles and individual learner needs.
- Developing schemes of work and lesson plans as well as contributing to the on-going creation and development of new and innovative training materials/resources.
- Delivery will be split between Face-to-Face Delivery at our Wembley Centre and Online via Microsoft Teams.
- Embedding Functional Skills, Prevent, British Values and Safeguarding throughout delivery and documenting it in lessons plans and schemes of work.
- Achieving a minimum of Grade 2 in all internal and external inspections, monitoring visits and observations.
- Achieving a success rate of 95% for accredited qualifications. Attending curriculum working groups where necessary.
- Administrating and completing paperwork associated with programme within required timescales.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications required for the position of Functional Skills Tutor:
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification - PTLLS, AET, DTLLS, etc.
- Hold a Functional Skills Maths and English at a minimum of level 2 or equivalent.
- Have experience of delivering Functional Skills both face to face and online.
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with learners.
- Have a strong knowledge of safeguarding and the promotion of the welfare of children and young people.
