The School of Creative and Performing Arts is looking to appoint an exceptional lecturer to join our media team. We currently offer a full range of media courses encompassing TV/film and print and digital-based media, delivered through both UAL qualifications and T Levels in Media, Broadcast and Production.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for planning and delivering engaging lessons to learners on our Level 1, 2 and 3 programmes of study, as well as taking on Course Leader responsibilities for a group of learners. You will be required to assess and provide formative and summative feedback to learners to help ensure they make progress at the College.
We are looking for a strong communicator who is passionate about their subject area and able to work closely with others in our friendly team, as well as students, parents/carers and other stakeholders. It is essential that you possess strong practical media skills, with proficient use of Adobe Creative Cloud—specifically InDesign and Illustrator—being essential for this role. A good understanding of theoretical practices in media, particularly the application of theory into practice, would also be advantageous. Industry knowledge and experience would further support our students as they prepare to progress from the College into industry or higher education. This role is based at our Southend campus.
For those who do not currently hold a teaching qualification, you will need a minimum Level 3 qualification in your subject specialism plus Maths and English at Level 2 before embarking on a Cert Ed Level 5 or PGCE Level 6.
For the successful candidate, the College can fund these in-house qualifications.
