Main Purpose of the Post

The School of Health and Social Care sits within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences. It draws together many health disciplines: Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedic Science, Healthcare Science, Osteopathy, Health and Social Care, Social Work, Public Health and Healthcare Management and is the largest provider of health care education in Wales, providing an exciting and dynamic environment in which to study and further an academic or professional career. Many of these programmes are ranked in the top 5 in the UK (National Student Survey, 2021). The School’s mission is to provide excellent teaching and conduct high quality international research that meets the needs of the people of Wales, the UK and globally.
Swansea University is expanding its Public Health, Healthcare Management and Health and Social Care programmes. We are looking to appoint an individual who is experienced in the field of Health Care Management, either from a health care general management or health care professional management background to contribute to the portfolio of programmes in the Healthcare Management, Public Health and Health and Social Care Academic Unit to complement our diverse and experienced health professionals in the School of Health and Social Care. The postholder will follow the University’s teaching-focused career pathway. The postholder will also be encouraged to engage with research to enhance student experience and for continuing professional development.
The post:
The work of the post-holder will primarily involve students undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of study. Additionally, they will be required to undertake postgraduate research supervision. The postholder will also contribute to teaching other health professional students across the faculty.
