You will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and evaluating high-quality online courses and learning experiences, shaping the future of higher education through technology.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and delivery of engaging and effective online courses and digital learning materials across various disciplines. Conduct research into emerging trends and best practices in educational technology and online pedagogy. Provide academic leadership and mentorship to faculty and staff in the use of digital learning tools and platforms. Develop and facilitate professional development workshops and training sessions for educators on online teaching methodologies. Evaluate the effectiveness of digital learning initiatives through data analysis and student feedback. Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the university's online learning strategy. Collaborate with instructional designers, multimedia specialists, and subject matter experts to create rich and interactive learning content. Stay current with advancements in learning management systems (LMS), virtual reality, artificial intelligence in education, and other relevant technologies. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences. Supervise postgraduate students undertaking research in educational technology. Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in all digital learning offerings. Qualifications: A PhD in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education teaching and curriculum development, with a significant focus on online and blended learning environments. Demonstrated expertise in instructional design principles and learning theories relevant to digital education. Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) and various educational technology tools. Strong research experience and a record of scholarly publications. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment. Experience in faculty training and development related to educational technology. A passion for innovation in teaching and learning. Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
