We are currently recruiting for two full-time lecturers.
Closing date; 20th June, 2025
Proposed start date; 13th August 2025 To teach within the School of Health and Care across a range of courses from Entry level to level 3 and potential to teach up to level 6 in Health and Care. You will create effective and stimulating opportunities for all students through high quality teaching, learning and assessment that enables progression and development for all learners.

Key Responsibilities
- To contribute fully to the mission and values statement of the College ensuring its effective implementation in all aspects of College life.
- To contribute to the College and curriculum area strategic objectives and to actively engage in the annual review.
- To be aware of national developments in the subject area and participate in relevant CPD to enhance professional development needs.
- To plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to achieve effective Teaching, Learning and Assessment.
- Plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques to engage and motivate and encourage students as individuals.
- Establish a purposeful and motivating learning environment where students feel safe, secure, confident, and valued.
- Establish and maintain procedures with students which promote and maintain appropriate behaviour, communication, and respect for others, while challenging discriminatory behaviour and attitudes.
- To set and mark work in accordance with College, Associated University and School Assessment policies.
- To track all students’ progress in accordance with agreed systems and policies.
- To develop a rapport with individuals and whole groups to facilitate the learning process.
- To be aware of external and internal assessment procedures and play an appropriate part in their implementation.
- To have excellent communication skills.
- To liaise with Head of School, Deputy and Assistant Head in contributing to the design of programmes and supporting and developing teaching, learning and assessment in order to achieve high standards in success and value added.
- To attend and contribute fully to team meetings, course team objectives and the college’s quality cycle.
- To track and monitor attendance and retention in accordance with course targets and College procedures.
- Encourage students to reflect and recognise ways in which learning can empower them as individuals and make a difference to communities.
- Share good practice with others through the College Peer Review process and engage in continuing professional development on a personal level.
- Evaluate own contribution to the organisation’s quality cycle.
- Have the skills to develop learning material that can be delivered remotely
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential Criteria: Educated to Level 6 e.g. Degree or equivalent in a health or science subject
Ability to teach at least one of the following: Biology, Chemistry and physicsHealth and Social care
Excellent computer literacy – ability to use the current IT programs of the College
Proven relevant experience of curriculum planning, development & delivery in health or science.
Knowledge and understanding of health-related subjects.
Ability to meet deadlines
Engaged in Continuing Professional Development
Minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy or willingness to complete
High level of communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable Criteria:A recognised Teaching qualification or substantial vocational experience
Industry experience in the health sector
Ability to set high standards for students, colleagues and for themselves
Experience of resource-based learning
Experience of developing remote and online based learning and materials
Membership of a relevant professional body
Experience of assessing students’ needs and planning curriculum for their benefit including Technology Enhanced Learning
Good understanding of curriculum development to meet the training needs of employers
Good understanding of quality assurance and improvement processes
