Level 2 Gym Instruction qualification
Own public liability insurance.
Hours: 18:00 – 19:30 every Tuesday.
Salary: £19.00-£25.00p/h dependent on experience and level of qualification.
Special requirements: Must be able to travel to site at times advertised with nil issues.
About Health First Plus
A new and innovative enterprise with the aim of developing and leading on patient centred rehabilitation, through community projects and initiative. The St Mary’s Island Parkinson’s Class was the flagship rehabilitation group, which hosts between 15-23 Parkinson’s patients weekly. Further projects are being established to influence public health and populations with specific conditions at the St Mary’s Island site and others.
About the role
Successful applicants will be expected to aid in leading/running and supporting the Parkinson’s Exercise class. Be comfortable with Parkinson’s patients, understanding their symptoms and how their life is impacted. The class offers participants access to physiotherapists who can aid them in completing their rehabilitation, so an understanding of general exercise/rehabilitation principles is also helpful for the role.
We strive to deliver a research and outcome driven rehabilitation class, that enables the local population to feel valued in their rehabilitation. Any successful applicant will be part of a journey to enhances this experience for our members, and continues building a community via the class that cares.
Responsibilities
- Being an approachable member of the team.
- Offering advice to participants during their rehabilitation sessions.
- Considering progressions and regressions to the exercises in the circuit.
- Taking group warmups and cool downs.
- On-to-one supervision for members who require it.
Candidate requirements
Essential
- Willingness to learn.
- Taking on feedback from other members of the team.
- Being able to show/pass an enhanced DBS check.
- Always maintaining professionalism.
Desirable
- Experience working with Parkinson’s.
