Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave (Pro-Rata) plus Bank holidays,Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Computing to join our Computing department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Teaching & Learning Delivery – Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across a range of courses, adapting to individual student needs to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
- Curriculum & Resource Development – Create up-to-date schemes of work and innovative learning materials that meet awarding body standards and enhance student engagement.
- Student Progress & Support – Monitor student progress, implement timely interventions, and maintain behaviour standards in line with the Student Code of Conduct.
- Quality Assurance & Administration – Complete course-related administrative tasks accurately and on time, contribute to course reviews, and participate in team meetings and student feedback activities.
- Professional Standards & Compliance – Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies, engage in ongoing professional development, and support promotional events and College initiatives.
About you:
- Qualifications & Subject Expertise – Holds a degree in Computing or related field (or equivalent experience), with GCSEs in English and Maths; willing to work toward a teaching qualification.
- Teaching Skills & Subject Knowledge – Capable of teaching topics such as Networking, Network Security, and a range of Computing subjects, with up-to-date knowledge and recent UK teaching experience
- Professional Experience & Inclusivity – Demonstrates high performance in previous roles, works effectively with diverse groups, and actively promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Communication & Team Collaboration – Communicates confidently across formats, contributes positively to team goals, and upholds the organisation’s values of Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, and Honesty
- Student Support & Professional Conduct – Creates a supportive learning environment, maintains safeguarding and health and safety standards, and is committed to continuous professional development.
