Full Time, Fixed Term for 12 months.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 1 person to join Bristol Therapeutic Support Service as a Skills Coach within the dedicated Staying Close team, fixed term for 12 months.
The Staying Close Team seeks to provide therapeutic, practical, emotional, and educational support to young people leaving children’s homes or supported accommodation as they transition into adulthood. The intention is to address the ‘cliff edge’ young people can often experience when reaching adulthood by providing intensive, holistic support prior and following transition.
You will work as part of a small team providing a high level of support to a small number of young people, both on an individual and group basis. Skills coaching will include supporting a young person to develop coping and resilience skills, self-care strategies, emotional and behavioural regulation skills, relationships skills, practical life skills and problem-solving skills.
You will have skills in working directly with young people and you will work closely with colleagues in the team as well as others involved in supporting young people.
This post will suit someone with a sound knowledge of attachment and the impact of developmental trauma and a background in therapeutic work. You will be a dynamic and creative individual who enjoys a challenge and works well in a team.
This team works as part of the wider Therapeutic Support Team.
This service is an exciting and enjoyable place to work. We have a strong culture of learning and support.
Continued funding is uncertain beyond twelve months but will be influenced by evidencing further success.
You will receive regular supervision, training and development opportunities.
Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
