We are recruiting on behalf of a leading College in Newcastle upon Tyne, a vibrant further education and training provider, for a skilled English Lecturer to join their dedicated English and Maths department.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact by delivering GCSE and Functional Skills English to a diverse student cohort; guiding their success, confidence and future progression.
Key Duties of an English Lecturer:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills English.
- Differentiate content to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional learning needs.
- Use assessment to inform planning and provide meaningful feedback to enhance learner progress.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, course development and teaching resource creation.
- Promote student attendance, retention and achievement in line with college expectations.
What we're looking for in an English Lecturer:
- A degree or recognised qualification in English or a related subject.
- A teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed., DET).
- Experience teaching GCSE and/or Functional Skills English in a Further Education and Training setting.
- Excellent classroom management, communication and IT skills.
- A dedication to inclusive education and continuous professional development.
