About the Role
The Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in International Business (Research & Teaching Track). This is a full-time, open-ended opportunity for an enthusiastic and accomplished academic to contribute to our world-leading teaching and research in the area of International Business.
Depending on experience, appointments will be made at Lecturer (Grade 7/8) or Senior Lecturer (Grade 9) level. The role includes conducting internationally excellent research, contributing to teaching and curriculum development, and engaging in academic leadership within the School.

About You
Lecturer (Grade 7/8)
You should have, or be developing, a growing international research reputation in International Business, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching. At Grade 8, experience in curriculum design and development is expected.
Senior Lecturer (Grade 9)
You will bring an excellent established international research profile and provide leadership within the subject area. You should have a strong track record in grant applications, internationally recognised publications, and curriculum innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and contributing to internationally recognised research in International Business.
- Acting as Principal Investigator on major research projects and securing research funding.
- Playing a strategic role in shaping research direction within the School.
- Enhancing public understanding and influencing policy and practice through engagement with external stakeholders.
- Designing and delivering high-quality teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Developing inclusive and innovative learning environments, particularly for a diverse student cohort.
- Contributing to academic leadership, including mentoring colleagues and leading curriculum development.
- Championing University priorities, including internationalisation, employability, and digital learning.
- Representing the School and University in external networks and academic communities.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications and Knowledge
- PhD (or equivalent) in International Business or a closely related field.
- Strong subject expertise with an internationally recognised research profile.
- Understanding of University strategies and ambitions.
Desirable
- A focus on responsible international business or sustainability.
- Experience in interdisciplinary or collaborative research.
Key Skills
- Proven leadership and project management abilities.
- Clear and engaging communication skills for academic and non-academic audiences.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students.
- Ability to attract external funding and form collaborative partnerships.
- Effective time management and organisational capabilities.
Experience
- A substantial and sustained record of publications in international journals.
- Proven ability to lead and secure research funding (Senior Lecturer).
- Experience of curriculum design, delivery, and assessment.
- Demonstrated leadership in academic or professional settings.
- Track record in student supervision and supporting early career researchers.
