Prospective candidates should be able to:
- Deliver assessment and examination duties to a range of learners on our full time and part time programmes at both undergraduate & postgraduate levels.
- Provide tutorial for a group or groups of students and to arrange and monitor Key Skills activities.
- Liaise with Head of quality and line manager and Internal Verifiers, EE as appropriate.
- Carry out assessment, evaluation and other administrative or laboratory duties in line with the module assessment requirements.
- Supervise individual/group project relating to your specialist subject major.
- Attend all required departmental meetings and annual meeting with external examiners.

The College delivers high quality academic degrees and HNC/HND vocational education to ensuring a great learning experience for all students. As such, the successful applicants will have a strong background in industry and hold UK Master/PhD degrees and professional qualification in Civil Engineering. We are looking for a lecturer to deliver courses at both undergraduate & postgraduate level and also BTEC HNC/HND vocational qualification. The successful candidate can either be from Civil Engineering extensive teaching background or from industry with a passion to transfer existing skills into teaching. Preference will be given to those applicants holding teaching qualification. However, support will be given to those looking to achieve a teaching qualification, with guidance from experienced lecturers and induction programmes.

Qualifications Required
You must intesive full-time teaching experience at levels 4,5,6,7 and hold both UK Bachelor and Master degrees and professional qualifications in Civil Engineering [preferably PhD degree but this is not essential] . Relevant professional qualification will be desirable. In addition the candidate MUST have the relevant experience to managing and developing quality assurance and RQF internal verification activities within the UK HE institutions. Preference will be given to those applicants with long term extensive experience in teaching vocational courses at HNC/HND levels.
Essential Requirements:
- The successful candidate MUST hold both UK Bachelors` and Masters` degrees in any ONE of the following subject disciplines: Civil Engineering [with extensive teaching experience in Civil Engineering & Construction Management at Level 4, 5 & 6 & 7]
- In addition the candidate MUST have the relevant experience to managing and developing quality assurance and RQF internal verification activities within the UK HE institutions.
- Knowledge and awareness of UK Quality Code is an essential requirement.
- Extensive experience in teaching Degree and HNC/HND and assessment procedures would be essential. We strongly advise candidates that unless they meet this essential requirement should not apply for this position.
