An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Science and Humanities adult learning team. The team is responsible for delivering full and part-time Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diplomas and GCSE resit programmes to adult learners. We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic biology lecturer who can deliver high quality teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of our adult students on our Level 3 Access to Health Professions Diploma. It is important that you can communicate effectively and that you hold a good working knowledge of IT systems such as Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
Qualifications:- Educated to degree level in biology or a related subject.
- Level 2 maths and English or the equivalent (e.g. GCSE grade C or above, GCSE grade 4 or above etc)
You will preferably have recent teaching experience and a track record of delivering success in exam or portfolio-based assessments. Experience of working with Access to HE or A-level students would be ideal. Ideally, you would hold or be working towards a recognised teaching qualification. You will be expected to meet individual learner needs and deliver innovative lessons which motivate and enthuse learners who are returning to education after a break. You will create interesting and engaging resources that help contextualise the subject and facilitate learning. You will routinely monitor learner progress, setting individualised targets to ensure learners are developing their knowledge and skills. The ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and timely completion of course-related paperwork is essential.
