Milton Keynes College has an exciting opportunity for a Library Assistant to deliver library and learning resource services to residents at HMP Fosse Way, Leicester. Working hours for this role are Wednesday & Thursday 11.00 - 19.30, Friday 08.10 - 16.40, and Saturday & Sunday 08:45 – 17:00.
The role includes developing a high-quality library service within the prison, supporting and developing activities with partner agencies - such as the Shannon Trust “Turning Pages” scheme, Reading Ahead, and selecting and acquiring library resources in consultation with colleagues and users.
If you possess excellent communication and organisational skills, this is a fantastic opportunity to promote reading to learners and provide a high standard of service to all library users.

ABOUT HMP FOSSE WAY
HMP Fosse Way is a Category C super prison, holding over 1,700 adult male sentenced offenders. It focuses on reducing reoffending and preventing future crime by preparing offenders for release through accredited intervention programmes, skill and vocational training, and education.
Courses offered include Maths, English, IT, Bricklaying, Carpentry, Fork-Lift, Barbering, Business Mentoring, and more. Education delivery hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 11.15am, 1:30pm – 4:15pm, with class sizes ranging from 12 to 17 learners.
The site offers free parking, with South Wigston Train Station nearby and facilities including a bistro, coffee shop, gym, and electric car charging points.
