Fun is our key word, where our sites across the UK offer up to 30 activities from e-karting to trampoline parks, high wall climbing to augmented reality bowling. We are now looking for a Learning and Development Manager to join our amazing People Team.
What you’ll be doing
The role is continuing to build on the success of our L&D Team, who are responsible for the training of almost 1000 internal team members, plus the training of our franchise sites who operate worldwide.
You will have a team of three direct reports who partner with each of our business brands and work collaboratively to deliver blended learning content.
This role will be a senior member of the People Leadership team, and the gatekeeper of the Company values and leadership behaviours. With a coaching first approach, this role leads a team of L&D professionals to ensure all team members are set up for success in their roles and can develop careers with Gravity. With accountability for the performance management process, career pathways, learning content, and leadership development, this role is crucial in the business achieving its strategic goals. This role will be responsible for delivering workshops with the SLT to develop leadership capability, and work alongside the Chief People and Culture Officer on senior level talent and succession plans.
Your responsibilities
Strategy and Planning
Lead in the creation and delivery of the L&D strategy and plan, ensuring team objectives are aligned to the overall business strategy.
Work towards creating a collaborative DE&I Strategy.
Effective management of the L&D budget to maximise impact.
Accountable for the Apprenticeship Levy Fund, ensuring full utilisation to support business goals.
Leadership and Culture
Lead a team of L&D professionals in the delivery of the L&D objectives, ensuring alignment with the business values and that the team are role modelling the leadership behaviours.
Develop strong leadership capability within the senior leadership team, working alongside the wider people team to promote a coaching culture.
Embed the Company values and leadership behaviours through all L&D touchpoints.
Business partner the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to identify where learning interventions could support their business aims through skills gap analysis, working with them to improve the L&D offering.
Coach senior leaders to develop them professionally and personally.
Performance and Talent
Ownership of the performance management process, ensuring line managers are appropriately trained to develop a culture of continuous feedback.
Embed the talent pipeline process, to ensure we identify and develop talent within the business.
Create a narrative to describe Gravity’s career pathways, and communicate this widely within the business, ensuring it becomes an integral part of performance discussions.
Develop coaching skills within the business, utilising agreed on coaching models and principals to drive consistency.
Your skills and experience
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Level 5 qualified coach (EMCC or equivalent)
Experience leading a small team of L&D professionals
Experience of creating a leadership development programme
CIPD or relevant L&D qualification (desirable)
Full UK Driving Licence
MBTI Qualification
