We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow within Aston University’s Professional Engineering Centre (APEC) to deliver modules in Operational Excellence and / or Technology & Innovation to work based learners at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Learners will include apprentices ranging from early career through to senior leader level in the fields of engineering and supply chain. The successful candidate will also act as professional supervisor for apprentices, engaging directly with learners and their line manager to support professional development.
Applicants should be able to evidence relevant industrial experience and have experience of teaching on work based learning programmes. They should have a track record of successful engagement with employers.
A first degree in an engineering discipline, a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline and chartered status as a professional engineer / professional manager will be required. We would also expect applicants to hold a formal teaching qualification such as a PGCHE and / or have achieved Fellow status of Advance HE, or be willing to achieve this once in post.
