What we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced qualified Level 7 Assessor (teacher) who has passion, drive and enthusiasm to support and ensure their students receive the best possible education experience. You will have an ability to deliver lessons that accommodate a diverse range of learning styles and abilities. You will have experience in working with teams of support professionals to ensure every student is supported to achieve their academic milestones. Strong communication skills are a must, and your ability to relate your knowledge with passion and fun will be key to our student’s success. This role is permanent, full time (35 hours per week), based at our Openshaw Campus.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A teaching qualification at Level 5 or above. A specialist Dyslexia/SpLD qualification at Level 5 or above, or the ability to achieve this within 12 months of recruitment.
Also, at least one of the following:
- a postgraduate level course at or equivalent to Level 7, including at least 100 hours relating to individual specialist assessments of learners with Dyslexia/SpLD#, or Exam Access arrangements.
- a current SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate, as awarded by BDA, The Dyslexia Guild, or Patoss and listed on the SASC website.
#including the theoretical basis underlying psychometric tests, the concepts of validity and reliability, standard deviations and the normal curve, raw scores, standard scores, quotients, percentiles and age equivalent scores; the concept of statistically significant discrepancies between scores, standard error or discrepancy between scores: standard error or measurement and confidence levels.
