Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering Craft (Ref. No. L678)
Full Time/Permanent/Altens Campus
Salary: £35,170.00 - £43,357.00 per annum
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with a passion for teaching who is keen to pass on their knowledge and workshop skills to our students.
The individual should have a minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering and an excellent working knowledge and skills relevant to mechanical engineering, including workshop experience.
Experience of teaching and motivating learners to succeed would be an advantage.

Experience of teaching is not essential but you will be contracted to obtain TQFE (Teaching Qualification in Further Education) once employment has commenced if you do not already hold a relevant teaching qualification

PERSON SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS SCQF Level 7/HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Working Knowledge of CAD
- Teaching qualification (TQFE or equivalent)
- Assessment/Verification qualification
- ECDL (European Computer Driving License)
- GTC registration
EXPERIENCE Up to date industry experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering workshop experience.
- Teaching or training experience
- Assessment experience
KNOWLEDGE Working knowledge of Mechanical Engineering at technician level.
- Knowledge and/or experience of the use of electronic learning materials
SKILLS Good communication skills
- Good presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to develop and use appropriate learning/teaching/training materials
- Computer literate
