Salary Unqualified: £25,934 - £27476 per annum

Qualified: £28,293 - £32,741 per annum

Hours 18.5 hours per week, all year round

Contract Permanent

Location Peterborough College

We are looking for an inspirational Lecturer to teach, assess and co-ordinate a range of IT & Computing Courses. Our courses range from Level 1 to 3 with the possibly for you to teach other related programmes including apprenticeships.

This is an exciting and growing area. Delivering IT, computer science and games development. We need a creative computing practitioner to help drive the department forward.

The successful candidate should be qualified to degree level in a subject area such as IT or Computer Science with a comprehensive and recent experience of working in a relevant environment. You must have experience of teaching software development and programming languages such as C++, Python, HTML and Front-End Development and will have a good understanding of Unreal Engine, adobe suite and the game development cycle with an have an interest and understanding of VR/AR/MR/XR technologies a passion for developing knowledge and skills of learners in order for them to succeed.

The successful applicant will deliver on a variety of subject areas such as Programming, Games Design and Website Development.

You should hold a teaching qualification (PGCE/CertEd) or display a willingness to work towards the Level 5 Diploma teaching qualification (supported by CPD) upon appointment. You must also have experience of delivering lessons at a standard of 'Good' or above, possess excellent communication skills and be highly motivated to provide an outstanding service to our learners.

You will contribute effectively to the successful learning experiences of students in the College through effective teaching that meets or exceeds College standards and results in high levels of student retention and achievement.

Finally, you will have the proven ability to work successfully and influentially as part of a team and experience of organising, managing and delivering learning opportunities.
