Job Description

Newcastle College require a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in Business.

The post holder will teach and manage learning on a range of courses from across the Business Academy which provides a curriculum at both FE and HE, typically full time L2 and L3 programmes, L2 and L3 apprenticeships, professional qualifications as well as FdA and BA programmes.

The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high quality learning programmes across a range of these levels as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties.

This post requires a strong background in business, administration and customer service and the candidate must have a proven track record of professional / vocational expertise in a business related sector.

The candidate must be qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE, HE and / or Apprenticeships and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.

An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
