Job Description
Here at VWV, we're proud to do things differently.. to put you first. Sure, we're now a sizeable law firm with 4 offices and just over 500 employees and yes we're growing steadily through the recruitment of more talent. But what really sets us apart is our small firm feel- the way we retain our warm and inclusive culture in spite of our growth. You'll feel part of our family from day one, the VWV family!
Our commitment to providing the best opportunities for all of our people now finds us looking to recruit a professional and personable Learning and Development Manager.
The role
Working with and overseeing a small team of learning and development specialists, you'll enjoy a close knit working environment with all the benefits of being part of our larger HR team. As a firm, we're known for being collaborative and as a team we find that enjoying each other's company, as well as our work, is just one of the extra benefits that comes from being part of the VWV family.
The main function of your role is to highlight training needs throughout the firm and arrange training programmes, both internal and external, accordingly. As such, you'll regularly meet with training partners and heads of department before organising CILEX training courses, IT training courses, apprenticeships and other supported study programmes. This is a great opportunity for someone with a real breadth of skills- you'll need strong interpersonal skills to meet with key stakeholders and help deliver courses to colleagues, as well as excellent researching skills to discover new ways to deliver learning. Experience of evaluating training programmes and preparing cost benefit analyses of them would also be beneficial.
As part of your role you'll deliver internal training sessions on subjects like management and interpersonal skills, so you will be expected to present in a confident manner. As manager to both our IT trainers and Learning and Development Advisor, you'll be an organised individual with an engaging manner and strong listening skills.
Ideally, you'll have a professional training qualification and preferably be a CIPD member. You'll enjoy being responsible for VWV's liP accreditation and managing the process to achieve a successful outcome.
Where will I work?
At VWV we have a truly unique and engaging culture that we hold dear. We work hard but we also love to have fun and we recognise that it's the social interaction between us that really embeds our culture. Whilst recent times have proved we can work effectively as a business from home, we're currently working to a hybrid model of office and home working.
Whilst it's your experience and enthusiasm that for us are key, we'd ideally like you to work from our Bristol office for at least part of the week. In this way, you'll benefit first-hand from our warm and friendly culture that no advert can do justice! We are of course happy to discuss any specific requirements of hybrid working with candidates on an individual basis.
Why choose us?
There are so many reasons to stop and explore us further. We're known for our friendly and welcoming culture where teamwork and collaboration is key. There's no pigeon-holing or glass ceilings here, just a professional yet relaxed culture where you can finally be yourself.
