Tasks and Responsibilities

The role of the Learning & Development Manager is to lead and support the operational Learning and Development Specialists to ensure delivery and compliance to all policies and procedures, and ensure all delivery is relevant and timely. Supporting DHL Express and the wider DPDHL business to embed a positive learning culture and support the embedding of the DPDHL values within the business.

  • Provide recommendations and options to meeting identified development needs which are aligned with business strategy and focus.
  • Develop bespoke training sessions with clear materials and guidelines for delivery.  These will include support on the effective application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Act as a fully participative senior member of the CoE acting in a pro-active solution focussed when dealing with challenges and providing creative ideas for enhancing the service the CoE delivers to the business.
  • Provide an appropriate range of solutions with cost benefit analysis and recommendation of approach and agree on action to be taken
  • Develop content which demonstrates clarity of the aim and objectives takes the learner through a logical and progressive development route.
  • Develop material that is aligned to corporate standards and includes all elements of the process such as joining instructions, pre-course material (if appropriate), exercises & activities, presentations, workbooks, tutor notes and Individual Development Plans.
  • Engage and liaise with subject matter experts, where appropriate, to ensure that content is up to date, complete and aligned with other similar material.
  • Create and share innovative ideas for improving the service the L & D CoE provides to the business.
  • Act as a consultant to Business Managers to identify personal and team development needs.
  • Seek to enhance the integration of technology and accessibility of learning and development.
  • Lead, coach and develop all L&D team members, providing support for individual development plans and managing performance.

Safety and Security

  • Adhere to country laws/regulations and company procedures/  standards in regard to Safety and Security
  • Adhere to customs / import / export procedures as applicable
  • Ensure any potential security breaches or concerns are brought to the attention of supervisor/manager without delay
  • There may be a requirement to undertake a Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) in relation to certain duties and procedures.
