- The role comprises management of the IQA function, processes, and systems as well as IQA duties.
- To line manage Twin’s IQA team to ensure effective delivery and quality assurance of all qualifications for full compliance with the requirements of external bodies – Awarding Organisations.
- Conduct IQA sampling to support the IQA team.
- Lead with all awarding body EQA visits.
- Contribute to the self-assessment process to promote and implement quality improvements throughout the department for the QIP.
- Provide feedback and support to IQAs to develop their practice to ensure systems and processes are being followed.
- Lead with the assessment induction process for new assessors/trainers.
- Monitor, support and co-ordinate the work of the IQA’s and/or trainee IQAs.
- Ensure all assessor/trainer development observations and standardisations are planned and carried out in timely manner to facilitate the development of a highly skilled and effective delivery team.
- Work effectively with the Delivery Teams to plan the IQA summative assessments and keep the schedule current
- Monitor and support IQA team with any contribution to trainer performance reviews to facilitate the development of a highly skilled and effective delivery team
- Identify CPD needs of IQA’s to ensure that they have skills, knowledge and competence to fulfil their role.
- Maintain an assessor/trainer competency matrix and implement a CPD schedule.
- Monitor learner progression escalating any concerns.
- Escalate any IQA concerns with your line manager.
- Allocate IQAs to new trainers/assessors and ensure effective IQA support and mentoring for all new assessors.
- Coordinate IQA standardisation meetings to ensure consistent practice throughout the IQA team including trainee IQA’s
- Lead on the planning and implementation of curriculum design to ensure learner resources are current and fit for purpose.
- Sample qualifications in line with sampling plan and IQA strategy.
- Ensure all IQA documentation is completed adhering to Awarding Organisation and company standards.
- Maintain the integrity of all programmes by reporting any suspected malpractice or maladministration are followed.
- Provide feedback and advice to trainers/assessors to develop their assessment practices and ensure that trainee trainer/assessor’s assessment decisions are countersigned.
- Plan and conduct learner interviews in line with the IQA strategy to ensure quality of delivery
- Liaise with Awarding Organisations (AO) to agree sampling timeline and lead on external Quality Assurance (EQA) visits.
- Complete centre updates to inform AO’s of any changes to delivery team as and when required.
- Work on Centre Approval activities as directed by the Quality Manager/ Head of Quality & Safeguarding co-ordinating the development of schemes of works (SOWs), lesson plans and approval applications.
- To participate in course evaluation, quality assurance and self-assessment processes.
- Ensure information gathered during good practice groups is routinely disseminated and shared
- To conduct aspects of all duties and responsibilities in line with Twin’s Health & Safety Policy in the interests of themselves, other colleagues, and learners.
- To maintain the highest professional standards in accordance with the policies of Twin.
- To travel as required to meet the requirements of the position.
- To carry out other duties as may reasonably be required.
- Lead IQA qualification – Essential
- Assessing qualification, CAVA, TAQA, A1, or equivalent – Essential
- Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics and English or equivalent – Essential
- PTTLS, DTTLS or equivalent – Desirable
