Job Description

About Us

Tiro is a leading training provider for science and technology apprenticeships. We’ve been helping hungry apprentices to join ambitious businesses since 2005. At Tiro, we really believe that great apprenticeships help everyone. Because there are remarkable apprentices out there just waiting to be found, and fantastic employment opportunities waiting to be filled. But our work will never be just about getting bums on seats and pocketing our commission. In our own small way, we’re helping to change the world – finding people that are working on COVID vaccines, finding new ways for technology to help humanity and helping to tackle the big issues of the day, like climate change. We’re proud to be playing our part in making that happen, and we’re looking for more like-minded people to join team Tiro.

The Role

As a super-human tutor, you’ll be a key player in helping to change lives through science and technology apprenticeships. You’ll put the learners at the heart of everything you do, with an obsession to nurture, grow and develop apprentices to succeed.

In this role you’ll be responsible for delivering our IT and Digital training programme to an exceptional level – Tiro educated learners stand out from the crowd. You’ll design and deliver a variety of IT and digital training materials covering a host of disciplines from cyber security and cloud services, to networking and operating systems, and everything in-between. Our learning materials should always be learner-centric, created and delivered with the aim of embedding subject knowledge.

Our apprentices are fearless, hungry, go-getters and you’ll need to be right there with them to champion and nurture them. You’ll support a caseload of up to 35 learners managing their programme of learning, completing records, and giving high quality feedback (within 10 days). You’ll track cohort delivery, mark assignments, and assess knowledge, skills, and behaviors within the apprenticeship standards. You’ll also prepare and support them through their End Point Assessment.

About You

You’ll be someone that LOVES digital skills. It’s important that you have some industry experience, and relevant subject qualifications would be a bonus! If you don’t have the latter, don’t be put off, Tiro is able to put you through a programme of learning to get you to where you need to be.

You’ll need to be an awesome communicator, capable of holding the attention of others, engaging and inspiring your audience through memorable content and delivery. You’ll be curious and hungry to learn and develop, indulging your inner nerd by asking questions, looking up information, and initiating conversation with others to learn more. You’ll also be super organized, capable of spinning a number of plates at the same time.

The Package

We love people. The apprentices who’re brimming with potential. The business leaders who are crying out for extra help. And our fantastic team who make it all happen. And if you love people, you treat them well. You pay them what they’re worth. You coach and support them. And give them the opportunities to progress. You take a chance on people because you see something special, and you know they’re worth it.

At Tiro, we’ll look after you because we’re nothing without our people. We’ll never take you for granted and we’ll make sure work’s fun and rewarding. And in turn, we’ll ask you to treat our clients and our apprentices the same way – helping to give people their first big break and enabling businesses to grow.

At Tiro, we make great things happen for people. And that starts with you. You’ll receive:

  • Starting salary between £30,000 and £45,000 depending on experience
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Hours of work – you can choose your own hours, providing you’re around when stakeholders need you and clock up 37.5 hours per week
  • Remote working
  • Travel requirement
  • 5% employee / 3% employer pension contribution
  • Annual away day
  • Regular training and CPD opportunities
