Head of Business Development
Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary: £43,519 - £50,325 per annum
Campus: Trowbridge, Wiltshire with travel to other campuses
About the role
We are currently seeking a Head of Business Development with experience of strategic management of apprenticeship programmes, to join our successful Business Development department, based at our Trowbridge campus on a full-time basis.
As post holder your main purpose in this role is to manage the growth in our Apprenticeship, commercial and adult/community learning provision. You will also be responsible for identifying potential commercial opportunities and proactively engaging and developing new business and partnership opportunities, raising the profile of the college, developing relationships with key stakeholders, increasing current income and generating new income streams from new business.
You will be expected to generate new business from initial contact to the point of delivery and work with colleagues to analyse current markets, identify opportunities and challenges and use your professional skills to undertake a full training needs analysis for our employers. You will also lead and line manage staff that work in the Business Development department.
About you
The successful candidate will have worked within a similar role previously and will have a good standard of general education including a management qualification (or equivalent) and experience of line management. It is essential that you have knowledge of apprenticeships, AEB and quality issues along with an understanding of the tender / bid process. You will have experience of demonstrating effective development of partnerships and / or strategic relationships. It will be desirable that you have experience of securing funding through the development and presentation of major funding bids and you will be confident when devising marketing strategies and plans.
