Job Description

Who are we looking for?


We are currently looking for a new Director of University Partnerships to join CEG Digital, part of the larger Cambridge Education Group.


The role is on a full-time, permanent basis and it can be based in our Cambridge or Newcastle office (United Kingdom). We can consider applicants that wish to be Homebased in the United Kingdom, however, they would need to be in close proximity to at least one University partner.


The Director of University Partnerships manages the partnership with several CEG Digital partner universities as the key account manager. Comfortable with engagement at Vice Chancellor and senior leadership level, they provide first-rate service to partner universities as the executive-level relationship manager and primary point of contact. They continuously demonstrate CEG Digital’s value to partners through thoughtful strategy and planning, management, oversight of operational matters and expansion of the online portfolio through new programme acquisition.


Working with senior managers internally across the breadth of CEG Digital, they retain overall responsibility for the success of each partnership from new programme roll-outs to student recruitment and retention, providing both advocacy and representation internally on behalf of their partner universities. With a constant eye on innovation and market trends, the Director of University Partnerships works at the forefront of digital teaching/learning and delivery to ensure the maximum success of their partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner Management


  • Develop and maintain strong, executive-level relationships with partner universities
  • Harness and bring to bear all CEG Digital’s functional delivery areas including academic development, marketing, recruitment, and retention to deliver a successful partnership
  • Manage multiple partnerships to a high level, developing a thorough understanding of each partner’s needs, values, and strategic goals


Strategy And Planning


  • Develop key strategic priorities for each partner university, which include, among others, removal of barriers to scale and acquisition of new programmes, leading them to closure on a pre-defined timeline


Operational Management & Oversight


  • With a strong focus on student experience, engagement, retention and progression, work with the Director of Academic Delivery and the Director of Student Retention to resolve day-to-day operational and process improvement matters at partner universities


Key Person Specification:


Education


  • A postgraduate degree, or equivalent experience in role


Experience And Skills


  • Experience working with staff at a senior executive level, ideally within a University setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of how HE sector operates and experience in senior management roles
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify key issues, analyse their implications and develop and implement innovative business solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, bringing them to completion on budget and to timescale.
  • Ability to manage multiple partnerships/accounts to a high level without compromising on quality or responsiveness
